Over the Edge

WHEN:  Saturday, September 16, 2017

WHERE:  Torrington Towers

WHAT:  Up to 100 people will rappel 111 feet down this 14 Story Building

WHY:    Raise funds to support 3 nonprofits serving Northwest CT

Increase awareness of those nonprofits and the region overall

Do something different, exciting, and fun involving the whole region

WHO:  Edgers can be anyone who weighs 100 – 300 pounds, who raises a minimum of $1,000 for this campaign by September 16.

HOW:  From the top of Torrington Towers, along two rappel lines, and with the benefit of impeccable safety measures and the guidance of highly trained industrial ropes specialists. Each edger will likely be rappelling for 5 – 15 minutes.

Edging – individually or as a team

You can form a team or sign up individually to Go Over the Edge for the three nonprofits.  No experience in rappeling is necessary. Prime Time House:

The mission of Prime Time House, Inc. is to assist adults with serious mental illness find pathways back to independence and productivity. All pathways will offer unlimited opportunities to access the same worlds of employment, education, housing, and friendship as the rest of society.

 

Northwest Connecticut Arts Council:

The mission of the Northwest Connecticut Arts Council is to promote the arts and cultural resources of Northwestern Connecticut as integral contributors to the quality of life in the region, to assist all artists and cultural organizations in their efforts to thrive, and to inform the general public about and give access to the arts and culture of the region.

 

Northwest Connecticut Chamber of Commerce Education Foundation:

The Northwest Connecticut Chamber Education Foundation provides initiatives and educational programs benefitting the region. The Foundation supports Leadership Northwest, Read Aloud and the WOW! Forum through the Chamber of Commerce of Northwest Connecticut, Inc. Scholarships are being established to assist students attending local colleges and universities.
