The Chamber’s most successful networking program, Business After Hours, is a monthly highlight on the Chamber’s calendar.  Business After Hours are held at different members’ businesses throughout our twenty-town service area.  They offer attendees the opportunity to meet and network with their fellow members as well as providing the host the chance to highlight their products and services.

An average of 200 business people attend the gatherings where light refreshments are served. Members of the Chamber’s Board of Directors are encouraged to attend to welcome new members of the Chamber.  New members are also especially recognized during remarks by the Chamber President.  Representatives of the Chamber’s Ambassador Program & Membership Services Committee regularly volunteer at the registration table and the beverage counter.

Companies interested in hosting a Business After Hours should contact Nancy DePecol, Membership & Sales Coordinator at the Chamber at 860-482-6586 or e-mail her at nancy@nwctchamberofcommerce.org. Due to the success of this initiative, there is a waiting period of several months to a year to schedule a Business After Hours event.

It’s all about the contacts! contacts! contacts! How do you make them?

New and seasoned members gather every month at various Chamber member businesses for morning ‘chat’. Chamber members are introduced and given the opportunity to speak and display information about their business.  The meeting is a fantastic way for local retailers and professionals to be known, seen and heard by their peers!

Coffee & a light breakfast will be served.

Meetings are held on the last Tuesday of every month from 8 am - 9 am at member businesses.

All Members Are Encouraged To Attend!

YPO’s mission is to attract and retain young professionals Northwest Connecticut by networking, community involvement and professional development.

Northwest Connecticut’s Chamber of Commerce created the Young Professionals Organization (YPO) to support and expand the population of young professionals in our region. YPO’s ultimate goal is to make Northwest Connecticut an inviting and attractive place for young professionals to live and work by working with the young professional community. The Chamber recognizes that business, state and local government and the community all rely on young people succeeding their predecessors in leadership roles.  Without leaders to fill vacancies or offer fresh ideas, our region will struggle to remain competitive.

The Young Professionals Organization targets men and women in their twenties and thirties to help them develop a peer network and roots in the community. YPO does this by hosting social networking events at local businesses and providing professional development seminars and community service opportunities in which members can participate.

If you are not YPO’s mailing list, please email info@nwctchamberofcommerce.org and put, “Add me to Young Professionals’ email list” in the subject line.  For more information, call Lauren at the Chamber at 860-482-6586.

Whine & Unwind is a monthly networking event which is extremely popular. They are held on the first Monday of each month at a Chamber member bar or restaurant. The event runs from 5:30-6:30 and is complimentary hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. Members typically continue the networking and order dinner or snacks from the host.

For more information or to host a Whine & Unwind event, please contact Nancy DePecol at the Chamber at 860-482-6586 or e-mail her at nancy@nwctchamberofcommerce.org.
