"Retail" in Retail Coalition terms is not just department and convenience stores. This program is geared toward all businesses that deal directly with the public. The Coalition offers an educational and networking opportunity geared specifically towards its retail members. Members of the Coalition share ideas and best practices at their meetings. The coalition is a forum for small businesses to unite as a collective voice.
Each meeting features a presentation designed to support and enhance the retail industry. Programs in the past have included "Navigating State & Municipal Bidding Procedures", "Direct Mail Advertising", "Improving Cash Flow", a presentation on Torrington's downtown redevelopment plan and a team building workshop.
Bob Dickson, owner and president of the Dale Carnegie Training Franchise in Western Connecticut, serves as the chairman of the Retail Coalition. The Retail Coalition meetings are held on the first Wednesday of alternating months and are open to members and non Chamber members.
