Chorus Angelicus Proudly Announces The John McDonough Literacy Award

We are looking for original literary works to be read by radio personality John Dankosky as part of our Christmas Angelicus Programs this December 2021.

The work can be a poem or short story based on a holiday theme.  It can be humorous, spiritual or reflective and the invitation is extended to include all cultural traditions.  The original work should be 300 words or less (that’s about 3 minutes!) in length and not previously published.

One prize will be awarded to a child 16 or under, and one to an adult.  The winning submissions will be read at all of the Christmas Angelicus concerts.  The award will be

given in ceremony at a Tribute Concert to John McDonough on December 11th, 2021 at the Church of Christ, Congregational in Norfolk, CT.

The prize for the winning submission in each category will be $100.

Submissions should be sent before October 15th to:
