Chorus Angelicus Virtual Spring Concert

A Spring Celebration in Music

Gabriel Löfvall, Artistic Director

Saturday, May 22 at 7:00 p.m.

Premiere takes place on our website, Facebook Live, and YouTube channel

Welcome the warmer weather and a return to new life with Chorus Angelicus Virtual Spring Concert: our choristers have continued to rehearse remotely using technology, and …aren’t they ready to show you the fruits of their work! Reflective choral moments, rich harmonies, lilting piano and organ accompaniments, the sound of brass and strings, they will all combine with the magic of the recording studio to come to you in the intimacy of your homes.

A special highlight of this program will be the premiere of a new choral work by acclaimed British/American composer Nicholas White, former Artistic Director for Chorus Angelicus. White’s composition launches the beginning of our 30th Anniversary festivities. Especially commissioned for “virtual choir,” The Arrow and the Song, based on the famous poem by American poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, is poised to captivate your imagination with the appeal of its verse and the new sounds that Nicholas White has conjured up from it.

Further splendid works by Daley, Fauré, Jacobson, Mozart, and Pergolesi, are guaranteed to provide your ears with much aesthetic pleasure. In addition to the highlighted poem by Longfellow, other featured poets include Charles Dickens, Jean Racine, and William Shakespeare, so the feast for the senses is complete, for sure!
