O&G Industries, Inc., an innovative and diversified construction company, located in Torrington, CT, is seeking an Inventory Control Associate to join our team. This position requires weekly site visits across our Connecticut mason stores. Your office home-base could be located in any one of the following locations, based on your home address: Stamford, Danbury, Bridgeport, Waterbury or Hartford.

This person is responsible for various inventory control functions such as performing physical inventory verification and reconciliation, and an abundance of warehouse management functions for each facility. Some overtime is required during our peak season.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and maintain current inventory levels; stock out reporting per facility based on demand
  • Investigate receiving errors
  • Perform quality physical count of on hand inventory including immediate counts and yearly full inventory reconciliation
  • Report discrepancies in inventory
  • Implement loss prevention programs to prevent receiving errors, theft, and product misidentification
  • Monitor and discard inventory that does not meet company standards including slow moving and discontinued material
  • Perform routine office tasks such as data entry, answering phones and assisting customers

Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of experience with inventory control
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Familiarity with mason products and the industry
  • Critical thinker with strong mathematical and analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy
  • Computer-savvy with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and Outlook
  • Ability to interact professionally and effectively with other departments and all levels of management
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
  • Committed to a high standard of safety and willing to comply with all safety policies and practices
