Torrington Water Company- Customer Service Representative

The Torrington Water Company has a job opportunity for a customer service representative in our general office. We are a small office committed to superior customer service. Will require someone willing to learn and perform a variety of duties.

We are a very busy office serving 10,000 customers in the Torrington area. If you have the skills to work in a fast-paced environment and can multitask this is the job for you.

Education and Experience:

  • A High School diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate.
  • Three years’ experience working in an office environment and with the public

Requirements:

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and the public.
  • Handle multiple projects simultaneously and use good judgment in prioritizing work assignments.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Attention to detail a must – will be learning billing, checking readings obtained, doing service orders and transfer orders.
  • Answering phones and helping customers with billing questions, taking payments, and resolving customer complaints.
  • Cross training for other duties in the office as needed.
  • Opening mail , sorting, and doing bank deposit
  • Knowledge of Word and Excel a must
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Starting pay at $18.00 per hour. Excellent benefits.
