The Torrington Civitan Club will sponsor a Scholarship Fundraiser Dance” on Sat. March 25, 2017 from 7:30 – 11 pm at Chatterley’s Banquet Hall, 371 Pinewoods Rd, Torrington. Dance to the music of popular “Night Moves Band.” There will be a cash bar, bring your own snacks. A basket raffle will be held. Proceeds will benefit local college-bound high school students. Tickets are $15 per person and can be purchased from any Civitan member or purchased at the door by cash only.
Throughout the years, Civitan Club has awarded thousands of dollars in scholarships to Torrington area college bound seniors. The Torrington Civitan Club is a group of local citizens who volunteer in a wide range of charity projects across Torrington. They conduct fundraisers and participate in charity projects to help others in the community, with a special emphasis on helping people with developmental disabilities. Civitan Club meets at 6 pm the second Tuesday of the month at Marino’s Restaurant in Torrington. For more information about Civitan International, go to www.Civitan.org.

The Sandy Beach Commission is searching for a seasonal Beach Manager for a public swimming/recreational area for the 2017season. Responsibilities include: overseeing the maintenance and operation of the beach and facilities, supervising the staff and swim lesson program. This salaried position will start in May and includes a summer lake residence!
