The Manufacturers’ Coalition, a group comprised of individuals from manufacturing companies in the Northwest corner, meets on the first Friday of every month. All members of the business community are welcome to attend. Meetings focus on specific areas of interest including: employee recruitment and retention, workforce development, on-the-job training programs and grants, legislative updates that affect manufacturers, facility tours, sharing of best practices, and the development of industry-specific curriculum for local educational institutions.
The Chamber holds an annual Manufacturing Summit in September that features guest speakers which have included the Governor of Connecticut, the State Comptroller, the Commissioner of the Department of Economic and Community Development, and leaders of area manufacturing companies.
Chamber members can start business / industry peer groups that they feel would be beneficial to the other Chamber members. If there is interest in starting and chairing a new peers group, a member is encouraged to contact the Chamber to initiate it. The Chamber will facilitate the process by helping identify members that may be interested and contacting the membership to gauge interest. If enough interest exists, the Chamber will help organize and schedule periodic meetings (typically monthly).
