The accounting assistant will assist in managing day-to-day accounting and finance requirements, as well as miscellaneous office duties. This candidate should have a thorough understanding of basic accounting functions; such as accrual accounting of the purchase and sales cycle and its interconnectivity to AR, AP, inventory and cost of goods sold.
Responsibilities:
Bookkeeping and financial support
Monthly online sales tax reporting
Prepare journal entries
Financial statement preparation
Tracking fixed assets and preparing depreciation schedules
Perform month end closings
Reconciling accounts
Administrative support for the team
Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, management or a related field
3+ years of bookkeeping experience
Proficiency in financial concepts and double-entry bookkeeping
Good written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Organizational and prioritization skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to research and solve problems
Experience with Excel and some or all of the following: JD Edwards, QuickBooks, Great Plains
